Starting July 1, 2025, Microsoft is introducing two new three-year subscription options for Microsoft 365 E5 Security and E5 Compliance mini suites, designed to offer more flexibility and long-term value for customers.

As of 7^th March 2025, the Microsoft 365 E5 Security suite is available as an add-on for Microsoft 365 Business Premium customers. This addition provides advanced security features to help businesses address the growing cybersecurity challenges they encounter.

The E5 Security suite includes the following key components:

• Microsoft Entra ID Plan 2: Enhanced Identity and Access Controls
• Microsoft Defender for Identity: New Extended Detection and Response (XDR) for incident-level visibility across the attack lifecycle
• Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Plan 2: Advanced protection and response for devices
• Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Plan 2: Enhanced Email and Collaboration Security
• Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps: AI-powered SaaS security solution for monitoring and control of cloud-based applications

These tools offer expanded coverage for SMBs, helping them strengthen their overall security posture.
